All there was is an exploration of the constant momentum of time against the backdrop of societal and environmental elements that are shifting, sometimes in harmony and sometimes in discord. Moments of harmony between time and change elicit feelings of growth and progress, but moments of discord often thrust us into a sense of retrograde and we are forced into an awkward dance of simultaneous backpedaling and swimming upstream. All there was, explores how this juxtaposition of how feels in both the body and the heart–physically and emotionally–while bringing the natural timing and visceral presence of life to the stage. This work showcases the tension of being alive—how life can be both beautiful and suddenly, like an earthquake, change in an instant.
