Stay soft
Commissioned by Hubbard Street Dance CREATE (2024)
This work was created in the summer of 2024 at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Create summer program, where I was a guest choreographer for both the adult and teen programs. Stay soft explores how we slide in and out of emotions in life and how at times we get stuck in both the positives and negatives of these moments. It also questions how one can remain soft in a world that often forces us to be hard. This work became a study and exploration of textures and qualities.
